..his first happy meal! Actually, Wendy's version of a happy meal. He loved every bit of it. Dad said by the time that Jake's my age, we'll be ordering him the triple cheeseburger!

Playdates!

This week, I had so much fun...lots of playdates! On Thursday, My dad took me to the mall to meet Beth, Lily, JT and Grandma Sue. We ate lunch, rode the carousel and played on the slides. It took me just a few minutes to warm up but then I played strong. It was a lot of fun! Then on Saturday, Jake, mommy and I went on a picnic lunch at the park. We met Lily and family there. We had a lot of fun swinging, sliding and running around. It was pretty hot out there. We got to wear our shorts for the first time this spring. I don't remember ever wearing shorts so I thought they were panties. My dad had to explain the concept of shorts to me. Anyway, Jake and I immediately fell asleep in the car leaving the park. We were pooped! Today, my friend Maddie came over for a playdate. We played hard all morning and then we went out to lunch for pizza. Phew...busy weekend! Here's a few pics of Jake starting to be self-sufficient with his food. He's very precise about his target..his mouth. Believe it or not, his favorite people food to eat is peas! He'd eat 100 peas if you'd put them on his tray and let him sit there long enough. It's so hard to believe he's almost 10 months old!

Here's Jake eating a piece of pizza. No, we don't normally give Jake pizza..at least not yet. However, I was eating my pizza in the play room and got up from the table. Jake is like a dog when I'm eating. He pulls at my food and is so pushy to get after whatever I'm eating. After I got up, my pizza was fair game. Jake ate this pizza like a pro...like he's done it before!

Happy Easter!

Phew!..what a weekend! It was a busy and fun holiday weekend at our house! Yesterday, I went to another egg hunt with some friends from school. It was by far the best egg hunt that I've been to. Besides the Easter Bunny, they had a real live petting zoo there. I fed sheep, baby lambs, goats, chickens, rabbits and a lot of other animals that I don't know what they are. I talked about it until I went to bed! We also had dinner with Lily and JT last night. It was fun to see and catch up with them. Today was Easter! The Easter Bunny left Jake and I each a basket full of toys and candy! Jake immediately went to my basket and I went to Jake's. I like the Little People airplane that the Easter Bunny gave him. I was pretty wild and crazy this morning after all the sugar. My parents are the best..they let me eat candy for breakfast! Then we spent the afternoon at Eleanor's. Some of our other friends came over there as well, and we had ANOTHER egg hunt and ate a late lunch. It was such a fun weekend. Now, I'm watching cartoons and ready for bed. Jake is drinking his bottle and almost out for the night. Goodnight and Happy Easter!

Easter Videos

Easter's on it's way!!!

It's not officially Easter yet but I'm really getting in the Easter spirit! First of all, we've had more candy around the house than we normally do...YUM! We colored Easter eggs at school this week and had another egg hunt. Did you know that egg hunts = more candy!? And, I'm going to another egg hunt this weekend with my friend Maddie from school! Easter is almost like a 2nd Christmas. Today, Jake and I got an Easter package from our cousins Erin and Doug who live in Pittsburgh. That was so nice of them to think of us. I remember Erin from when she came for Jake's baptism. I keep telling my mom that Erin is not here..she's at home. Probably because my mom has told me that hundreds of times!

Here's a picture of us opening our Easter surprise from Erin and Doug. Note that I'm wearing my new Dora dress. It's really a Dora nightgown but I call it my Dora dress and since it's a dress, I can wear it ALL day long!

Here's a random pic of Jakey and I in the tub. Jake LOVES baths. He about jumps out of my mom or dad's arms in excitement of getting a bath. He gets so excited that he screams. He loves when my mom and dad let him get a bath with me. I'm rather rough with him and he likes it! Jake has NO fear! Actually, Jake might like the foam letters/numbers the best. He loves to chew on them. All of them have Jake's teeth marks on them!

Jake on the Move

Here's a little video clip of Jake crawling up the steps. As soon as he sees the steps, he gets SO excited and crawls very fast towards them. If you say, Jake where are you going?, he just crawls faster. He definitely is way more mobile than I was at his age! He also puts every little thing in his mouth and I never really did that. You have to have your eyes on Jake at ALL times!

Easter Festivities

We're spending this weekend getting ready for the Easter bunny! This is Jake's first Easter. We dyed Easter eggs. It was SO much fun. I now think that every egg should be colored. My dad tried to get me to use the hook to put the eggs in and out of the dye but I insisted on dropping the eggs in the cups of dye with my fingers and then grabbing the eggs out of the dye with my hands. I was a mess!!!! We also had an Easter party in my neighborhood. It was a lot of fun. We got to wear spring clothes because it was so warm out. We dyed Easter eggs at the party, had Easter sugar snacks, hunted eggs and visited with the Easter bunny. Well, Jake visited with the Easter bunny, and I watched from afar. The Easter bunny was giving out lollipops and I stepped forward JUST enough to reach out for a lollipop. Enjoy my pics..

Spring Break..well, sort of

...My grandparents came this past weekend and part of the week to visit us. I say "my" grandparents because it's my Ree and Pop..not Jakey's! Anyway, we all had a fun time! We played outside, read books, put together puzzles, played with my doll house and even went to McDonald's for lunch!..yum, my favorite! Ree made cupcakes and we celebrated my birthday. I know..a little early but I really thought that my grandparents were coming for my birthday so we went ahead and celebrated anyway! Now, we need to get ready for the Easter Bunny. Coloring eggs, an egg hunt and a visit with the Easter Bunny are all on the agenda for this weekend!
