Fall trip to Florida

We had a great trip a few weeks ago to Ree and Pop's in Florida. We were very good in the car..watched Dora movies the whole time! It was a lot warmer in FL than it was at my house. We had to get our summer clothes back out to wear. We enjoyed our visit getting to see Ree and Pop, Aunt Barbara and Uncle Jimmy, Mimi, and several of Ree and Pop's friends. I even got to go to the beach and swim in the ocean!

Thanks Ree and Pop for the Halloween box of goodies! Jake and I fought over the box of all things..you can see him in tears.

Sara Kate update

Oh, I'm busy being a 3 yr old! I say some pretty funny things! My dad keeps a list of the funny stuff that I say. I'm getting ready for Halloween! I'm going to be Dora and Jakey is going to be Diego. We are going to get lots of candy! I LOVE candy! We went to the pumpkin patch and took a hayride and picked out a pumpkin. This week we will carve it and make it nice and scary. I've been very busy going to birthday parties. I went to Robert's party yesterday at the fire station and Lauren's birthday party today at Chuck E Cheese. I had fun at both parties. It's too bad that Jake was sick because he would have love the fire trucks! Finally, I get to start going to ballet. You know I have a tu tu that I wear everywhere. Well, they have ballet at my school but I didn't know that I wasn't signed up. I insisted that I take by tu tu to school and was very upset when I learned that my parents never signed me up. So, after enough bugging, my mom signed me up. My neighbor Rosie also comes over to "do ballet" and I learned to do a courtsie (that's what I call it). I be so excited to "do ballet"!

Jake update

Well, our big boy turned 16 months this week! Jake is still not walking. He takes steps and does a great job getting around but he still won't walk. I think that it's stressing my mom out a bit but everyone tells her that he will walk on his own time. Jake loves to do puzzles and is getting really good at them. He's also cutting all 4 molars at the same time..poor guy! My dad started a new job this week so that means that I went back up to full time at school, and Jake also started back in the Walker/Talker room. Jake had a really rough first week back. We felt so sorry for our baby. On top of it, Jake came down with strep throat AGAIN so missed part of his first week of school. Jake is asleep now and we hope that he can go back to school tomorrow. Jake is the best sleeper. He lays down to sleep..bangs his head and feet to sleep and doesn't let out a peep! He loves his crib and sleep!

We went to the Timber Ridge school fall carnival. We saw so many of our neighbors including Eleanor and her family.
My first taste of cotty candy. We waited in the cotton candy line for about an hour!

Looking Back..

I came across a file that contained baby names when I was in my mom's belly and thought that it would be fun to capture what my and Jake's names might have been:) My mom and dad didn't know if I was going to be a boy or a girl. So, if I was a girl, I was either going to be Riley Grace or Sara Kate. Sara Kate it was. Up until the point that I was born I was really Riley Grace but I was way too small and Sara Kate just seemed more fitting! If I was a boy, I was going to be Garrett Andrew or Caden Drew. Funny! Now, with Jake, we knew that he was going to be a boy which was good because my mom and dad only had a girl name and needed to focus on a boy name. If Jake were going to be a girl, he was going to be Anna Jane but we had enough time to work on a boy name since he was known well in advance. A boy name this time around was way difficult. There were times that he could have been Owen Andrew. Braden was also in the mix. The final came down to Jacob Ryan (Jake) or Reid Andrew. My mom and dad were still talking about it as my mom was getting the epidural. Jake seemed to have more weight at the time. So, Jake he was!
