Weekend update

Well, I'm happy to report that I'm officially potty trained!!!! I still wear diapers when I sleep but otherwise wear big girl panties all the time. In fact, I'm so proud of my panties that I show everyone them. I only had 1 accident this week..on Monday..at school. I was on the playground and forgot about telling my teachers that I had to go.

As for Jake, well he had a little accident early this week too. It was mostly my mom's fault but everyone's ok so that's all that matters. My mom put Jake on the counter as she was about to take dinner out of the oven. Jake always goes for the oven so my mom thought 2 seconds on the countertop wouldn't hurt. Well, my mom went to wash her hands and off Jake fell onto the floor and hit his head pretty hard. He cried right away which was a good sign. My mom still took him to the hospital just to make sure that everything was ok. The dr. said that he was going to be just fine. The dr. took 1 look at Jake in his diaper and said, looks like you got a linebacker there!

The rest of our week and weekend was busy. We had some family pictures taken at the Smith Plantation House in Roswell and also had dinner at El Porton with the Balog's (my friend Parker's family).

Potty update!

Ok..so on the morning of Friday, July 3rd, I decided that it was time to go potty! Yep, that's the day that we started our drive back to Atlanta from MD. That morning, I woke up with a dry diaper and immediately said when I woke up that I had to go potty. So far...so good. While we were traveling, I'd yell up to my parents in the front seat of the car and tell them that I had to go potty...so we would stop and I'd go. So...today, I'm wearing big girl panties. Fingers crossed for no accidents and no more diapers for good!

Deep Creek Vacation

My family and I just got back from a week at the lake. Mom, dad, Jakey and I drove to MD to vacation with all of my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma. The trip wasn't too long. We drove through TN, VA, WV and MD. On the way up we stayed over in Beckley, WV and on the way back we spent the night in Knoxville, TN. Staying over helped break up the trip. Mine and Jake's favorite part about the drive was the handful of different McDonald's playplaces that we played at. We enjoyed the trip so much. It's hard to believe that we are back home already. We got to see and meet so many new cousins! I basically followed my cousin Maureen around all week. I'm still saying.."I love Maureen". Wherever she was, I was 2 steps behind:) I also got to play with my boy cousins from CA and my girl cousins from Chicago. Everyone kept saying how well behaved both me and Jake were. Since I really don't remember my grandma's real house, I think that her house is the lake house. Grandma said that's fine by her...she wishes! Enjoy the pics...
Our view from grandma's house (not really her house but I think it is)..

Jake 1 yr stats

On June 25th Jakey went for his 1 yr well check-up. I'm slow to update because we went on vacation last week. Overall, Jake is off the growth charts..just as we thought. He weighed 29 lbs which is off the charts. He actually lost 1 lb probably due to no more bottles. He is 32 in. tall which is in the 97th percentile. His head is 48 which is in the 89th percentile. The dr. didn't say much that we didn't already know or have done...Jake can now face forward in the car..check, done. No more bottles...check, done. Jake should be eating people food..check, done. Jake is still a very good and content baby. He laughs a lot at me. He still loves the steps and has mastered going up and down. Jake has 6 teeth now..3 on top and 3 on the bottom. He babbles a lot. We're not really sure if he has a first word yet or not. He says something that sounds like "step". We're not sure if he actually means step or not. He loves the steps so maybe. Jake also knows "SO BIG" and put his hands high over his head when you ask him how big he is. Jake also loves giving kisses...open mouth ones!!!
